Due to Saudi petroleum money, the dominant version of Islam for the last decades has been Wahhabism; the least tolerant and thought-stimulating branch of Sunni Islam, unfortunately. I encourage non-Muslims to get to know other faces of Islam such as Isma'ilism and Mu'tasilism.
