But the Sun is tiny compared to the solar system which is tiny compared to the distance to the next star. Oh, did we mention that there are over 100 billion stars in our galaxy (which is about 100,000 light years in diameter) which is one of hundreds of billions of galaxies in just the observable universe (which might be infinite for all we know). Don't feel small. We find it liberating. Your everyday human stresses are nothing compared to this enormity that we are a part of. Enjoy the fact that we get to be part of this vastness! About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content. For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything Subscribe to Khan Academy’s Cosmology & Astronomy channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChNPnEkW8LYZ5Rwi8_A2-DA?sub_confirmation=1 Subscribe to Khan Academy: https://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=khanacademy

We are smaller than atoms to the virgo supercluster...
-
Who the heck would dislike this?
-
are there aliens millions of years more advanced than us? and if so, will they have spacecraft capable of going warp 100,000,000,000?

Am I the only one that thinks he repeats words too much?

If there is so many galaxies, do you think each one has an Earth? What if each Earth has people on it, and what if they're us with different personalities? If there is, do you think they would have Iris instead of Siri or Lled instead of Dell? I mean, all of these galaxies are mind exceeding. You could just stare at a star for hours and wonder, is there life on that? It sucks we can't go to one. There could be infinity Earths, so to Earth one another Earth would be Earth two, and Earth two would consider itself Earth one and another Earth Earth two. That's confusing!

it is nice that the lower class and not the elect now get best informed, the internet revolution is LEGENDARY.

We're nothing !!!

loved !!! the video series, feeding my curiosity and ever growing fascination for the infinite Universe.
Unlike other sciences, which have evolved from primitive stages of brave assumptions by brilliant minds in their respective fields to what we witness today as advancement in technology, space sciences would always be in their primitive stage no matter how much we evolve and develop as a species due to the unimaginable scale and the super-intriguing beauty of the Universe!! -
It takes light one hundred thousand years just to cross our home galaxy, the Milky Way. When you think about the way we send radio signals into space and then wait in hope for a possible response, the radio signals we send won't even go beyond our little galaxy for at least a hundred thousand years. Therefore, if the life we seek happens be in a neighboring galaxy it's much more likely to be several millennia before our radio signals would even be received and a response sent back (if any). Then it would take an equal amount of time before a reply signal would be received back on Earth... and that's only if the response comes from a nearby neighboring galaxy.

If you even somewhat know how big the universe is and don't know there is some form of life and not micro type stuff like humans but very very different if that makes sense your insane.what's your excuse you have to see it to know its possible? Well then look in the fucking mirror then dammit hello!!

So,maybe seeing the earth as a baby's cot would be easier. If the Earth was a cot,the the GALAXY would be the size of the Oort cloud.Mind, where are you???!:)

Reality is very strange.

It's certainly a mind fuck. You just fucked my mind. Raped my mind. I think I kind of liked it.
-
The universe is pathetically small. I am disappoint.
-
Space engine is lovely.

Gabriel flew around and he didn't cover them all save a little.
-
I'm going to use the word loosely, loosely.

So frustrating how unreachable and unknowable the universe is.
