Indrid, you have no idea how many times I was yelling at my computer screen to try and help you :P

Few things: First off, forget melee. I got lightning claws, and when you equip those you lose the bolter, so I charged in my sergeant in for a kill and he died to the first genestealer . I immidietely aborted space wolves campaign and started ultramarines, and those guys are much better, although their special weapon - cyclone missile launcher is kind of meh, replaces the flamer and the awesome assault cannon so it's not really good at all. But they do get sweet sweet bolter-flamers each which kick ass, later they get bolter-meltas which one-shot everything including the big broodlords, flamers are still better though, ultramarines also have +5% chance to hit with ranged weapons. Anyway, go and start over, and take either ultramarines or better yet, blood angels, and focus on leveling your librarian. Important tips: 1. you never use burst fire and it's really handy if you have ammo to spare, and you always overheat before you run out of ammo so you should use that more often. 2. Librarian meditate costs AP, so if you use a psychic ability and don't intend to move (or overwatch), you can still use meditate, otherwise your AP is wasted. 3. Always take agility first when your guys level, including the librarian, it's just really good, take ballistic skill second. Good luck!

The melee in this game is painful. I've tried so many times to make it work but it bit me in the ass every time. Too bad really, because I like using LCs and THSS. What I've learned and what many others have already said is: Only go for melee if it's a 100% guaranteed hit.

Want MOAR :D

I don't think this game quite understands the concept of percentages. If it keeps missing on 68% it surely isn't 68%.
It also makes no sense that a terminator would have 40% accuracy when the genestealer is only 2 squares away. Are the spacewolves inducting n00bs into their terminator squadrons now? -
Thanks for the vid Indrid.

Just started playing this game. It's freaking hard as hell.
-
A little tip I learned myself:
Dont always reload as soon as you're just a bit out of ammo, 10 rounds is fine if you don't expect a huge swarm. Same goes for cooling down since just moving also cools down your weapon. This can help grealy moving faster (and thus risking less). -
Lol, Indrid needs a dreadnought or something. Too right!

I have only watch a couple guys play the board game once, and even then only briefly... but I'm under the impression that genestealers get extra AP when they are first revealed. Or is it if they voluntarily reveal? No idea. Maybe something to look into though?

The genestealers don't use AP to turn so that's why that one could just turn and kill then do it again. Just saying again never get in melee combat with the genes unless its a 100% melee kill from the side. In the board game you could put your terms on guard which gave them a bonus in melee and if you where attacked from the side/rear if you didnt get killed you turn 90 degrees towards the attacker each failed attack till you could defend yourself(mostly you died before then)
