Indian space shuttle makes first test flight
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
India has successfully launched an experimental spacecraft it hopes will form the basis of its own re-usable space shuttle. ISRO launched the vehicle on a rocket from its facility north of Chennai. The $15 million dollar test craft was carried to an altitude of 70 kilometers after which it re-entered the Earth's atmosphere, exposing it to temperatures up to 2000 degrees Celsius. - Subscribe to our channel: http://bit.ly/AJSubscribe - Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AJEnglish - Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aljazeera - Check our website: http://www.aljazeera.com/

Space is fake, its all fraud!

really impressed with the design. It'll be very fuel efficient and cheap as compared to the American shuttles. Also this looks less riskier then the American ones.

I don't understand the hostile comments when it's largely a positive coverage. People have to get over their prejudices.

They should send this to Mars and don't have to worry like mangalyan.

world can eliminate poverty only by science and technology- Sarabhai (Indians remarkable scientist)
only high IQ people understand it. 😂
sorry Muslims don't have it.

Poverty elimination and Science promotion are two separate agenda. India spends meagre less than 1% of its GDP on R&D while it spends more than 3.5% of GDP on social welfare.

I have seen several videos of this "event".
Not one of them have any footage of the space craft leaving the actual launch pad.
Why ? -
Sane, educated peoples will always appreciate.. uneducated idiots will always spend all the time in criticism.. well done ISRO

Anyone knows why did NASA stop the Space Shuttle program years ago? Thanks!

this was just an initial test called as HEX1 ,ment to check the aircraft design/aerodynamics during hypersonic flight(HEX)..and also heat tiles and controls.. This test was successful..
RLV is TSTO(two stage to orbit). the whole air craft will separate into two part viz.. front(carrying payload) and the back(which will have wings).. the back part after pushing the front will glide down to earth while the front part will carry the load into orbit..
following test will be conducted , which will shape the the final finished space shuttle..
Hypersonic flight EXperiment (HEX)
Done
Landing EXperiment(LEX)
Bringing shuttle safely(soon will be done).
Return flight EXperiment(REX)
The Reusability test
Scramjet Propulsion EXperiment(SPEX)
it will take 10-15 years for the final deelopment of the shuttle..Meanwhile India has almost developed it Space capsule to fill the 10-15 yrs gap,all we need is heavy rocket and the work in this direction is almost done..the heavy rocket is called as GSLV MK3-it needs few more testing.
