In Class with Brian Cox - Brian answers student questions
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Science superstar, Prof Brian Cox, answered student questions live from the RiAus studio. Questions; - How are black holes formed? - When something enters a black hole, what happens next? - How will the univese end? - The big bang created the universe, but how can so much come from practically nothing? - What happens when you reach the end of the universe- is there anything beyond it? - Do you think we live in one universe of many? How many could there be? - What would happen if multiple universes collided? -What is dark matter? -Will we ever be able to travel faster than the speed of light? - Is time travel possible, and will it happen within our lifetime? - Is it possible to instantly travel through space- teleportation? - Do you think there is life on other planets? Aliens even? - What inspired you to get in to science/physics? - What is your favourite planet, and why? - Following the Higgs Boson discovery at CERN- what's the next great experiment in Physics? - Would life on earth be any different if we had two moons? - How is the human brain linked to the cosmos? - Is it possible for space elevators to be built in the next decade? - If there was a space craft going to deep space, would you join it? - Is maths the language of the universe? - How much do you think science fiction influences science?

dejavu mightbe necause something has broken the speed of light

The biggest question of all, that nobody will ever know, maybe not until we die and the reason I say maybe is because we might not.. But is how this all came about, the universe, life, before the Big Bang? Before anything.
-
What kind of universe will it be if light has slower speeds in those. And how will it behave.
-
Now that humans have the capacity to create universes because of CERN will it be that future humans will be capable of sustaining life anywhere.

I love this man!!!! After having lost Carl Sagan, it is wonderful to know that someone took over!!! :)

If you walked into a room full of scientists and asked them is there such a thing as God most of them would say no because there is no evidence for God.
Then if you asked them is there such a thing as “Nature” they would all look at you as though you’re crazy.Of course there’s "Nature".
If you then asked them "What is Nature?" they would proceed to tell you it is this great collection of, invisible, all-powerful forces, that controls all the seen and unseen things in the universe.
Sounds like the definition of God doesn’t it.
Nature and God are simply two names for the same thing.
Nature being the scientific name and God being the religious name.
There exists nothing else but Nature/God in the Universe. -
"The perimeter institute for theoretical physics", they have a really good public lecture series !!

You gotta admire this guy!!!

IN "CLASS" WITH PROFESSOR BRIAN COX answering questions - can you comment on YOUTUBE SUNLIGHT ELECTRO RAY'S EXPIREMENT+++ visible showing object's in motion powered by sunlight energy ? Also , is it true water do not wash or flow when in a falling motion ? Can weightless mass as in space object's exert it's gravitational force on others ? How did the GRAVITATIONAL WAVES get it's traveling energy after leaving it's life source MATTER ? What's the purpose of electron's within matter ? Can you explain the ENERGY which increases the speed of distant object's the Hubble law's ? Visit YOUTUBE SUNLIGHT ELECTRO RAY'S visible showing planetary orbit's powered by sunlight energy not gravity. lol

Space elevator idea: use a rope/tube filled with helium, but then the wind will definitely be an enemy.
-
What I love about Brian is how encouraging he is to the students. How he says that it might be they who discover the answers, that an Australian like them got the Nobel prize for discovering things.
That's a wonderful way to put that spark of possibility into a young mind. -
Unbaffle yourself haha that is science tho!👌🏼😂
-
Errr Sorry Cox there is nothing in relativity that procludes time travel, it makes it extremely difficult to the point where is practically impossible for us to do. But it doesn't preclude it.

Does anyone else get the impression the presenter is only thinking about eating a doughnut?
-
i want to be a scientist, it has been a dream of mine since 7 yrs old . .
\____/ -
how old are these students? i went of this video after the first question " how are black holes formed" i learnt this when i was 14 years old.
-
THIS IS AMAZING.
-
Pure speculation, ask any Taxi driver his theory , will be speculation as well..but might be right.

Brian Cox and the lady will be evaporated by the intense studio lights, gee you would get skin cancer under this much light, lol.
