Ibn Khaldun may be the best author in the Islamic world and perhaps the
best author ever. Here is the English translation of the Muqaddimah:

there is so much similarities between what this ibn al'arabi said and what Boris Mouravieff talked about in his book : Gnosis: : Study and Commentaries on the Esoteric Tradition of Eastern Orthodoxy or Esoteric Christianity

The ONE mercy that encompasses His entire creation ...how beautiful .99 mercy's merging ..we cannot even imagine .
-
Alhamdulillah, wa ba'ad.
Brother, I think Ar-Rahman means The Entirely Merciful. -
sir williwam chittick seems to be very deep into islamic history and studies, is he a muslim or not (asking because of his name)...... is he authentic? because the topic of sufism and mysticism is very delicate and people can easily go the wrong way if concepts are wrongly developed....... i think it is must to know about it from a muslim. no offence

If the universe is a manifestation of Rahma (Mercy) then wherefore evil? Surely it follows that evil would only be an illusion?

THE AQEEDA OF IBN ARABI
Mohiuddin Ibn Arabi (died 1240 CE ) is the Sheikh Ul Arefeen for all the Sufis
Read what he says,
Ibn ‘Arabi. The Sufi Shaykh said:
“The believer praises the Divinity which
conforms to his own belief and connects
himself to it in this way; but, all acts
return to their author, so that the believer
praises himself, as the work praises its
artist, all perfection and all lack that it
manifests falling back on its author. In the
same way, the Divinity (as such, which)
conforms to the belief is created by he who
concentrates on It, and It is his own work.
In praising that which he believes, the
believer praises his own soul, it is because
of that he condemns other beliefs than his
own; if he was just, he would not do it ... If
he understood the sense of the word of Djunayd:
‘The color of water is the color of its
receptacle’, he would admit the validity of all
the beliefs, and he would recognize God in
every form and every object of faith.”28
Ibn ‘Arabi. Wisdom of the Prophets, p. 132.
