How to Reallocate Disk Space To C (For Windows)
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
In this tutorial, disk space will be reallocated from D drive into the C drive. Apologies for any grammatical error, as I am not a native speaker. Step-by-step guide for those who may fail to understand what I'm saying (Do not type the quotation marks): 1. Click 'Start' 2. type in 'disk management' 3. click on 'create and format disk partition' 4. delete all drives that is not C: drive (make sure to move all files you still need onto the C: drive or an external hardware) 5. Right click on the green area. Click 'delete partition'. 6. Right click on drive C on disk management. Click 'extend volume'. Click next once a window pops up. 7. Type in the amount of MB you want to extend (e.g. if you want to extend 1GB, type in 1024.) IF YOU WANT YOUR LOGICAL DISK (e.g. Drive D), 1. Click start. Type in 'cmd'. 2. Click on cmd. Once the command prompt has started up, type in 'diskpart'. 3. Type in 'List Disk' to see what disk(s) you have. 4. Type in 'select disk #'. Replace # with your disk number. 5. Type in 'create partition extended'. 6. Go back to Disk Management. Right click on the light green area (the free space). Click on 'new simple volume'. 7. Type in the size of the volume in MB (e.g. 100 GB = 102400 MB)
