Installation of an array of 18 230Watt Solar Panels, wired in 6 series or "strings" of 3 panels each. These panels were mounted to roof with a UniSolar Rail Mounting System. We have used "weebs" to ground the panels to the rail and ran a grounding wire to connect the rails. System specs and major component parts: 48Volt Nominal System 4100Watt Solar Array (18 x 230Watt SoPray Polycrystalline Photovoltaic Solar Panels) 4400Watt 48V Magnum Pure-Sine Inverter, Outback FM80 80Amp Charge Controller with MPPT 16 x L-16 6V Deep Cycle Batteries Main Enclosure Panel (Custom API E-Panel) MidNite Solar 6 String Combiner Box UniSolar Roof Rack and Fast Jack Mounting **Solar power arrays and components are designed to be installed by professionals. Learning as much as i can about solar. i am currently licensed HVAC/ELECTRICAL both. I am curious why some comments say these are not grounded properly???? I see Metal racks, metal bolts, metal clamps, Metal roof, It all looks bonded to me am i wrong??? Solar panel frames connected to the clamps and rails, Rails connected to metal roof, Some areas metal roofs get grounded. Wheres the grounding issue??? I am not solar professional but to me everything looks neat, sturdy and safe. I miss something???

Your bonding your rails not grounding your rails. and install the grounding under the array not along the side.

you should cut your rails on the ground. I never install an array and cut the rails after the panels are installed on them.

No PPE on the roof and why penetrate a metal roof when a s-5 clam p could have been used

Hello! I've seen a single bare grounding wire that is installed underneath the panels and bolt to each frame. Did you do this? I'd understand this could be unnecessary since you installed the weeb clips. Am I right? Congrats for you nice work!

If I were to spend that much money on solar panels I would have gone for monochrystaline instead of poly to get more for my money, whilst leaving more space on my roof.
