thank you very much you saved my life, your video is incredibly fantastic

Isn't that supposed to be a sterile procedure?
-
I did this

Great vid! I def would ck patency first to avoid a repeat of the process. Also, any parts going in stoma should be kept as sanitary as possible, stomach wounds can be problematic & prolonged when infected.

Thank you. I wasn't sure how even though I was told I was responsible for it (doctor said they "forgot" to train me, whole other issue). Thank you for the visual on how to do this.

You made it look very simple and easy. Thank you for sharing. Omg, I was taught that never touch the tip of the tube that is inserted inside the stoma with the bare hand. Even with a clean washed hand, I wouldn't trust it.

Brandis, would it be prudent to check for residual, making sure the tube is patent?

I'm 13 and I have one and I'm getting it changed today, this girl is brave since she is young but she doesn't mind, when I have mine changed I freak the hell out and get worried

I am a dad my son has one to and the ssworker is using this as a reason to keep him from me
-
Why does she have a tube if you don't mind me asking
-
Thank you so much for this post! You have a beautiful child!
-
Thank you. My son is getting one of these placed next week. I was worried about changing it. Looks simple enough.

Oh my goodness, I can't believe you asked this question in such a way. I'm sure that she needs it. Why would a parent agree to have their child on a feeding tube if the doctors hadn't said it was necessary? I'm sure you meant well, but the way you wrote it has a rude ring to it.

Feeding tubes are not only for physically disabled people. There are literally hundreds of medical conditions that lead to tube feeding. As a baby, she had severe reflux and vomiting that made eating so unpleasant for her that she refused to do it. Without the feeding tube, she would have starved herself to death. She is alive and thriving BECAUSE she has the feeding tube. :)

This child can move around, why would she need someing only the most disabled needs.

G tubes are so fascinating to me. Thanks for sharing.
