Hi,I've just had a 5kw multi victron unit installed and cannot find any information on how to programn and upgrade the software to install the assistants and set it up as you've done here.I'm having to get a victron service agent to do it and set it up for user only, and is costing me a further $250 plus another $130 AU for the USB interface thanks?

6. Good video - clean install. Lots of details, which an engineer can appreciate.
   Our monocyrstalline panels are working much better than I expected in low light. And here where we get 90+ inches per year
   that is saying something.
   
   We also used a solar company install - only way here to get the purchase and operational incentives.
   You appear to be an electronic engineer - same here.
   
   We went with a system to give us grid-tie but also modes for backup power and off-grid. Requires a different inverter configuration, so people should know they just can't add batteries to a conventional grid-tie.
   Did a video series on it too - called "Star Lite Wars" - you might enjoy it.
   
   All the best to you out there in South Africa - hope to visit there some day.

9. hi, I live in indonesia, could you help me how i should face the solar panel?
10. At my condo we have 3 pond fountain pumps I would like to convert to solar (off grid). The pumps are ~1.5hp / 220v. I realize I have to change the pumps but I am not sure how many panels I would need, how many batteries, and so on. I want to run on batteries through the evening hours. I have seen some pumps that will run on 24v. Can you help with this design?

15. is there a way of getting the invertor charger to charge at night(cheap electric) and use electric from batteries during day ?? and what is the maximum current that can flow through the device from grid to house(not generated from batteries)

19. Excellent video however, very misleading to people who are thinking of installing and grid connecting a solar PV and or thermal system to their home. Like anything related to electrical engineering you will need an expert with at least a 4 year degree and experience. A qualified, certified renewable energy/solar design engineer, installer(s) or even consultant to provide the best practice. Solar power design and installation isn't a DIY job and you will need to have the system signed off by a qualified State solar electrician so that your panels/inverter(s) and related components' warranties and guarantees are viable should anything happen. Granted, I don't practice my profession in South Africa but unless you're hooking up an off-grid system you will need to adhere by all guidelines for solar PV installation
