To the first question, see Arkani-Hamed Amplituhedron. The question 08:00, I think much of the confusion comes from the kind of Spinoza/Carl Sagan/Copenhagen assumption that the entirety of existence is accessible, whereas the paradoxes would go away if we see our 3D space-time as imbedded in n-dimensional or even infinite dimensional "substrate" connected only at the quantum level, more so with bosons than fermions.
