Gravity Fed Water System - Phase 1 In A Solar Water System
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
This is a gravity fed water system for a house. The owner wants to eliminate loss of water service in the house. Currently the house is fed from a first floor tank by a fancy / expensive computer controlled pump. Also, because the city water pipes pass through a zone where the ground is soft the city pipes break often disrupting service for from 1-3 days every 3-4 months on average.. If they find this successful, they will add a solar water powered pump that will lift water to the roof tank. It's one way to do "prepping". The house uses massive pipes (1"-2") that do not change diameter so that water can come from the top of the house or the bottom without pressure issues. I'm not a plumber, so I'm not sure if it's the best way to do things, but it seems to work.
