Gordon Ramsay - Trouble at the Top: A New Menu, Angela Hartnett
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
From 2003: Gordon Ramsay already runs four of Britain's top restaurants but he wants more. A New Menu reveals that his latest business conquest is the Connaught Hotel in Mayfair. Famous haunt of aristocrats, millionaires and statesmen, the Connaught's restaurant is a benchmark of traditional British values and French gastronomy. All that's out of the window. The old French chef has been pensioned off, two thirds of the old staff have left and in two months time on opening night it will be a radically different establishment with a woman, Angela Hartnett, running the kitchen. Angela is Gordon's protégé - he's put up the cash but she's running this new venture. He's a notorious task master - as she already knows - and this is the ultimate test of whether she can stand alone, as well as stand up to him. Her first big challenge is the menu tasting where Gordon subjects every dish on Angela's proposed menu to rigorous inspection. She says he can be terrifying but she is not intimidated. But can she really stand up to her formidable boss when the pressure is on?

Hotels and restaurants is the way to go. Wolfgang puck and Dorchester, Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton. Alain Ducasse and Dorchester Collection. Ramsay and Blackstone. Bouchon?

"What he fails to realize is that two years ago.." What YOU fail to realize is that you're referencing a rating...FROM TWO YEARS AGO. Shut up and let Ramsay work it-.he actually creates magic, you just complain about it and eat on his dime.

to be successful you can't take any shit or ever tolerate incompetency.

Cooking is easy.
All you have to do is garnish with some "flowers and herbs" that are not edible.
The final piece is lovely...but it is not enough to feed my goldfish. -
Poor dear is going to get reacquainted with Advil.

Gordon Ramsay I think he lives by the famous speech Vince Lombardi gave to his men for football: "I know perfection is not obtainable, I don't expect you to be perfect, however, I do expect Excellence!"
