Gnosticism in JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
INTERVIEW STARTS AT 23:00. J.R.R. Tolkien is considered one of the eminent literary masters in all of history. His Lord of the Rings saga is one of the greatest best-sellers in modern times. Volumes have been written about his life and work, but many have overlooked his visionary and mystical side. The truth is that Tolkien was summoned into a mythological and archetypal realm to bring back to a tortured world the healing truths he found there. He was also an deep-thinker in contact with various esoteric and occult agencies throughout his life. Not only do his epics reveal possible prophecies, but the cosmology of his fiction, his very world view even is eerily similar to a certain group of ancient Gnostics. Perhaps even more astounding is that the life of J.R.R. Tolkien and CG Jung have striking parallels, similarities, and even analogous arcane revelations. And that's just scratching the surface! We take a never-before experienced voyage into one of the greatest imaginative minds in the annals of humankind, and how it continues to transform modern culture for the better. Astral Guest-- Dr. Lance Owens, Priest for the Ecclesia Gnostica, as well as creator and administrator for Gnosis.org.

There is a lot of synchronicity between the Redbook of Carl Jung, and the Redbook of J.R.R. Tolkien. Tolkien felt as if he was born during the wrong time period. He translated dead languages. Something was channeling full mythologies through him.

2:03 you said "in the Gospel of Tommy Jesus casts fire upon the world and watches it blaze" ... could perhaps Nero Caesar have had a hand in authoring it:
a) using his own propensities for watching Rome blaze
b) to cast suspicion on believers in Gospel of Tommy, supposedly (though very inaccurately) Christians? -
Yes! I was waiting for him to point out the "red book" parallel.

What's up with the 20 minute drama intro? It got boring. FAST!
-
Repent and to the Lord Jesus Christ who is God manifested in the flesh.

Very interesting, thanks Mr Conner

Glad you enjoyed! Obviously, his Gnosis came from some outer places, far out.

Thank you very much for this episode Miguel, it is somehow a paradox that J.R.R. Tolkien was a devoted Catholic yet the creation myth of his world is very Gnostic indeed.
