Georgia Tech Marching Band "Space Chords"
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
GT Band plays this piece before every home game. This selection really gets crazy at 1:00 and then blows you away at 1:38. The band plays a random chord where everyone plays any note within a given interval and then comes together to play 3rd down chords. This band is fantastic year after year! I've noticed in the Blue Devils Space Cords they don't do the scale at the end like Tech does in their's!

LOVE SPACE CHORDS!!!
-
This is pretty rad..
-
For those referencing Blue Devils, I'm not sure if everyone here is aware that Dr. Chip Crotts is a BD alum - in fact the 1992 soprano soloist.
-
Thanks Alex for your comments. Nice to hear a little more about Dr. Crotts.
-
Thanks for your comments homfencing. I'm not musically inclined but I just enjoy hearing the GT band.

Ha! I'm an 84 BD alum (soprano) and marched finals AT GA Tech! Space Chords into F tuning (as I remember the sequence)....kinda strange to me....works tho.
-
1:38 'its third down!'
-
Thanks for your insight Alex! I just know that I like it.

It's likely just dry and unexciting to a small group of people. Maybe you would like the 2013 GT version better than 2011? Thanks though, izzy or joe for stopping by and watching. Not sure what W/R is though.
-
rambling wreck isnt that exciting to me or anyone else. Is it just me or does W/R's space chords sound a little dry... UGA's Redcoat plays Krypton and dang near has power outages. I guess stick to what you know? but this isn't it. Ijs...?

Nahhhhhhhhh Blue Devils :D
-
CJ, Not looking for any comparisons like you and some others commenting here seem to be. I just enjoy hearing & seeing one of the best college bands in the country. Thanks for stopping by.
-
blue devils are better :)
-
Ehh It's good but I personally prefer the Blue Devils version

Thanks Justin & Alex. I did go to your page Justin and again took a listen to "Blue Devils Space Chords 2010 " and I can't agree with you at all. Perhaps it's something about being there at GT in person when at 1:38 the GT band hits you with the big time brass sound. I just didn't get that feeling from the BD version. I'm glad you guys like the BD and thanks for watching & listening. I think we can all agree that there's nothing like being in front of a great college marching band.

Nothing beats Blue Devils Space Chords

As a Blue Devil mellophone and a trumpet from the GA Tech marching band this isn't space chords. This is Blue Devil's Bb Tuning Major. Dr. Crotts is and has been a DCI Judge for many years and adapts a lot of our BD exercises for the GA Tech marching band.

Thanks also for stopping by. Yes, I'll always prefer the GT Marching Band over anything else someone is promoting.

Even FAMU played THE space chords.
