But it's officially "time" for CURVED spacetime. Join Gabe on this week’s episode of PBS Space Time as he discusses Newton and Einstein's dispute over inertial frames of reference. Is Einstein's theory inconsistent? Is gravity even a force??? Check out the episode to find out! some where it is force ;gravitational field force]
some where it is gravitational acceleration -
Strictly speaking, Newton's model is correct for local frames at low speeds (ie: the kind of situations we're in daily). Einstein's model extends Newton's model to cover a wider range of conditions. In the same way, Einstein's model breaks down in extreme conditions like black holes or at lengths smaller than the Planck length and at the moment, we don't have any model that works for those cases.

does velocity also effect spacetime?
-
I have a question ,thats difficult for me to express due to my lack of english vocabulary but ill try anyway.
If maximum speed of information is c,then a moving object wouldnt have inconsistency to the interaction of the atoms in regards to a still object, due to an atom moving ahead of or toward information? Doesnt that make a clock unreliable,by probably making it tick faster or slower? -
I understand the reasoning behind curved spacetime and the impact is, but I still don't really understand what curved space time necessarily IS. What does it mean that time is curved and how does that affect gravity?

I've heard that General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics don't mesh well and I'd like to know if this particular conundrum I've found myself thinking about is part of the reason why: If you were to draw a spacetime diagram for a quantum particle in superposition, wouldn't the resulting worldline be angled 90 degrees from the time axis, parallel to the distance axis since the particle can be found at many different locations within the same point in time? And thus violate the idea that no worldlines can exist under the 45 degree angle that light makes since that would be violating the speed of causality?
Additionally, I more or less think I know the answer for this one, but could gravity bend spacetime in a way a particle's worldline is curved to the point it exists in two different locations at the same point in time? -
what the fuck

Quantum Mechanics seems to be the answer to everything? Question is WHAT is the question? Quantum Mechanics proves everything in the universe through mathematics? Great shows though.

It's a shame this series ended here.

So...where do gravitons fit into this general relativity picture?
-
Can't we use Einstein Equations to determine if there is a 9th planet in our solar system?
-
I want to know the effect of time on space (with out considering what exactly time is)! But this video is not helping. Any suggestion?

If the is no gravity how come scientists found the GRAVITATIONAL WAVES?
You said that earth is accelerating towards the apple. What is causing earth to accelerate? -
i made speed to 0.5X still did not understand
-
why dont you make things clear first and go ahead..mass is of average intelligence why dont you understand? these videos drive me nut like non others do
-
what if two apples are thrown into sky in two opposite place in earth, does earth moves in both directions at once?
-
he is vomitting jargons of 1000 pages of book
-
Is the mutual attraction of all matter in the universe still a thing in curved space time?

So many unanswered questions........If matter distorts space and by so doing time as well....why?. Are we just supposed to accept this without any explanation of why it should do this? Dogmatism in the scientific world never fails to amaze me. It would appear that one can extrapolate conjecture into fact so long as it reinforces a belief. A little humility wouldn't go amiss in the scientific community. Don't get me wrong here.......Einstein's interpretation of the concept of " gravity " is nothing less than mathematical work of art. However his theory is just that, a theory , and it agrees remarkably with observation.......this doesn't however make it a fact.
