This is the video I shot for EEZRV while we were in Quartzsite. I will be field testing this kit while traveling up to Alaska for our summer jobs. Once I get a full report on the kit I will be sure to share it with all of you. Is that a wet pipe I saw? I hope it does not freeze and break and cause an issue.

You keep referring to "four-aught" wire. You do not have "four-aught" wire. You have 4 gauge wire. "four-aught" is 0000 gauge, which is nearly a half inch thick. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_wire_gauge. I know what you meant, but somebody with no practical background might be in trouble if they walk into an electrical supply and ask for "four-aught" wire. They will be shocked at the price of the welding cable they just bought!

I watched the video and I don't think that is 4/0 cable I think it is 4 AWG so let’s do calculations for both. Assuming perfect temperatures, the 4/0 cable can carry 180amps each or 360amps in parallel. I used the lowest amp rating for this size cable. the 4 AWG can carry 65amps each or 130amps paralleled. I used the lowest amp rating for this size cable.
So, parallel 4/0 cable can handle up to 4320 watts... 4AWG in parallel can handle 1560 watts. I think that's the 1500-watt inverter. It says it can have up 110 amps charging depending on model I’m sure the 1500-watt inverter doesn't have that much so the cable is more than adequate.
Now the resistance of just the wire. On a 24ft run of 4AWG it would be 0.006 ohms which is basically zero. Most the heat is going to come from external the wire meaning heat is going into the wire from the outside not coming out as a loss. So, the resistance will change with external temps but it is still negligible. On a 24ft run of 4/0 cable the resistance would be 0.000161ohms per meter 8 meters (approx. 24ft or so) would be 0.001288 ohms. So, the resistance in perfect conditions is pretty much zero for both wires in a 24-ft. run. -
Chris looks pretty pissed off in this video.....or is it me?

am solar has a lot of videos and they do know what they are doing. when i get solar installed im going to am solar... check out their videos

can the inverter charger be set for lithium batteries. Not sure I like the stick on panels they don't seem to have much wattage for the size but I do like the inverter charger charge controller...
-
Great Video awesome install have a question what is the wattage of your flat solar panels 'each'. Thanks Jimmy..

Hi, Chris. Great video as always! I live in the Northeast and I've been having one helluva time finding RV places or even solar places or electricians who install solar panels on RVs. The former two say they only deal with homes while many in the latter group don't don't do at all. How did you find the guy you used? Thanks!
-
This guy knows his stuff!
-
That was an awesome video guys, is this guy a one man show or is it company ? I really would like some contact info if at possible, I am going this route for sure thanks again for your informative and fun vids stay safe.

Where is the link to the self adhesive solar panels that this video shows you installing?
-
What is the price for the panels and inverter/controller?
-
One question: Will it power my 1600 watt blowdryer or flat iron. If it does, I will get my bf to do it and we can boondocks in comfort. A girl has to look good.

Getting an RV in 2 weeks, will need a electrical protector...

I should provide a follow-up to my earlier comments in which I mentioned being shipped the wrong product, an inverter, rather than this converter/charger/inverter which also had DC input terminals for the solar panel(s). After complaining about being shipped the wrong thing, the salesperson for EEZ RV Products responded with an unprofessional rant about my incompetence rather than simply waiting to see what they sent me.

Chris and G First off like your videos and the places you have traveled in Alaska. Are your Solar Panels working the way you want them to work? Any pros and cons about this product? Again great travel channel videos. Watched your Moab video, will go thier next spring, Yellowstonem, and the Four Corners.

did I see a hole in your driveshaft?

Thanks much for the video. The Charge Controller, Inverter combo seems ideal. What battery wire size (double up) are you using in this video? I heard the installer said 4/0 wires (which are 0.530" = 230 amps) but doesn't look to be that thick. I believe he meant he used 2 gauge AWG wire double up. Renogy, Suaoki and others make 100 Watt semi-flexible panel that's half the size.
