About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
A pilot in the area was able to shoot this video with his iPhone. It is a great video of Atlantis piercing the clouds on its way to low earth orbit and a rendevous with the ISS and the final launch all the space shuttles. STS135. Zoomed in view at the end of the video.

Why does the rocket launch at an angle instead of straight up? Is it gravity trying to bring it back down?
-
Boosters separateat 2:27 do they not?
-
cute... but uh... no such thing as orbit. you all have some clean recitals. but that is all it is. reciting how you have been told it should all work, without ever actually critically challenging if it all makes sense. cuz it doesnt. its impossible. but i look forward to you arguing that it is possible. so please do go ahead

rocket levels off around 50 thousand, maybe 80 thousand feet tops? you couldn't pay me to believe it went into "space".
-
First time in history crappy filming actually pays off.
-
Until the upper winds blew the smoke trail almost vertical, this craft was on an arc to head back down
-
hahaha...just back to earth!
-
Brilliant!!
Look how the shuttle curves away from space, Lol. -
Wow that's beautiful. It looks like a movie

Very cool.

Amazing video thanks for sharing. The view of the shuttle from the ground was only about 30 seconds because of the clouds. Now I finally got to the rest.
