This is me flying the F-sim Space Shuttle flight simulator for iPhone iPad, probably the best app that exists today. I managed to obtain high accuracy during approach and landing, as shown at the end of the vid, in the "landing analysis" window. Landing was very good as I held it off the rwy to be able to land within the touchdown zone and with the lowest possible descent rate. This gives you lots of points in this game but that ´s not the actual way you would land an airliner. Descent rate must be structurally acceptable but a smooth landing is neither required nor desired under certain circumstances such as short, wet, and/or contaminated runways, or when landing faster than normal due to engine and/or flight control failures. The derotation in the space shuttle must be accomplished at 1.5 degrees per second. Mine was a bit faster but I touched the nose down with 0 rate of descent. I was actually lucky. What stopped my nose from hitting the ground was the nose up moment caused by the full deflection of the drag chute, some 5 seconds after its deployment. I am sorry I kept the volume low. If you turn it really up you´ll listen to Commander Chris Ferguson's voice that was taken directly out of a recording of STS-115 as it re entered and landed. He was the pilot of that mission but he later served two more flights as Commander. I like Chris a lot. I was careful not to use misleading tags as I don´t want anyone looking for real space shuttle flights to run into my vid. If it ever happens I apologize. I hope you enjoy it. If I ever grease another one like this I'll sure upload it, even tho I doubt it. Comments of any kind are ok. I don´t like video responses much tho. I appreciate you reading the description and watching the vid. Thank you and Best Regards to you all.
