Earth, Moon & Stars in 4K Ultra HD
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Our senses tell us about the natural world, but our senses cannot tell us everything. That’s why we use tools, and NASA develops some of the most sophisticated, most exciting tools of all. Designed to reveal aspects of the Earth, the Sun, The Moon, these tools gather essential data about the world around us, while other instruments peer way out to much more distant places. When these data are turned into visualizations, we discover a complexity and elegance to the natural world that would otherwise elude our physical senses. Even more important, we uncover vital clues to understand how things work, how they’re changing, and what the implications for those changes may mean. With the advent of Ultra-High-Definition video, more commonly known as “4K Video”, those images take on an enhanced majesty and power. In this video, we present images about our home planet, as well as the life-giving star it orbits, and the mysterious moon that travels with us through space.

my theory is the gulf of mexico is an ancient impact crater (it just came to me). why else would it exist? africa fits snugly with north & south america during the time of pangea - except for the gulf. there's nothing on the west coast of africa that would leave that "hole".
can i get a witness? -
Time and distance are the key to being a planet harboring life. Evolution on life is relative in every corner of the universe. just because there is no life on mars doesn't mean there well never be, example.

Very, very nice animations. But you have to tell the general public and the uninitiated what they're seeing or what phenomenon they're looking at. Just a few texts will suffice (for example the gulf stream or the name of the moon's impact crater). This is more of an art piece about our physical world than an educational video. That's my 2 cents.
