I put together this slide show of the earth that shows ONE FULL DAY (September 08, 2016), in about 4 minutes 30 seconds. There is a second pass in less than 30 seconds so that you could see that there is cloud movement, which is hard to see in the longer version. I had always wanted to try this myself so I downloaded the 144 hi res(11,000 x 11,000) photos of the earth from the Himawari 8 satellite website. I chose photos for September 8, 2016. Man they took awhile to download. Himawari download link... https://seg-web.nict.go.jp/wsdb_osndisk/shareDirDownload/bDw2maKV?lang=en The 144 images are taken 10 minutes apart, and 144 per day from a geostationary satellite 22,200 miles up in space above Papua New Guinea. Geostationary means that the satellite is positioned in an orbit above one spot on the earth, and only takes photos of one side of the earth as the earth spins. I suggest you view the larger 1080p version full screen if you can and forget your mobile device. Too small a screen to appreciate the detail.
