The talk about the uniforms of the social constructs reminded me of the gangs in "The Warriors".

So what is "good music" then? I listen to this while working night shift and I have a lot of questions and would love to discuss, however, I do not wish to fill up the feed with a huge rant.

Van Halen = Party time. They crossed boundaries before country went pop and vise verse. Stoners, Preppies, Nerds, Jocks, City People, Country People, White, Black, Hispanic, Blue Collar and White Collar workers all dabbled. It was very powerful music. Sammy Hagar's era even more so. So they were gutted by the powers that be.

Hi Jan, I know this comments a bit late - i've just started watching your podcasts, which are great btw, and I'm going through back issues - but you should check out Richard Hall's 'Effects of Microwaves.' It's on Youtube. Very relevant to the discussion.

That bad shirt this guy is wearing is a type of music. That's why I'm not going to listening to two hours of this clueless idiot.

Hmm...I don't think it's the Soviets we have to worry about anymore. Think further south and further west. Think other hemisphere. The Bolsheviks have migrated to the U.S.

Y'all need to also read E Michael Jones. He has very good info on this subject (as well as others) connected to some of these topics. A super fascinating discussion you have going here though!

Derren Brown has done this ghost train ride at one of our theme parks and people here are saying its to mess with the head with subliminal messages about demons. Our press covers it up and says it's an anti fracking message instead.

For what its worth. Anton LaVey wrote about popular music at the time of one's puberty. He called this "erotic crystalization", and that's why people will sub- or un- consciously respond in a positive way when they hear it no matter how old they get.
He also connected personality types to music. I'm not sure how original LaVey was or if he was passing along what the power elites were doing; social control through music.
Rap is spoken-word in rhythm with music. I think a better example of atonal mono-rhythm is metal in all but it's earliest form. -
