The Stand - Stephen King (soundtrack) LYRICS All our times have come Here but now they're gone Seasons don't fear the reaper Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain..we can be like they are Come on baby...don't fear the reaper Baby take my hand...don't fear the reaper We'll be able to fly...don't fear the reaper Baby I'm your man... Valentine is done Here but now they're gone Romeo and Juliet Are together in eternity...Romeo and Juliet 40,000 men and women everyday...Like Romeo and Juliet 40,000 men and women everyday...Redefine happiness Another 40,000 coming everyday...We can be like they are Come on baby...don't fear the reaper Baby take my hand...don't fear the reaper We'll be able to fly...don't fear the reaper Baby I'm your man... Love of two is one Here but now they're gone Came the last night of sadness And it was clear she couldn't go on Then the door was open and the wind appeared The candles blew then disappeared The curtains flew then he appeared...saying don't be afraid Come on baby...and she had no fear And she ran to him...then they started to fly They looked backward and said goodby...she had become like they are She had taken his hand...she had become like they are Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

The stand brought me here

I know saying "I was born in the wrong generation" is pretty cancerous but I really wish I could see music like this in concerts

I love the contrast of the melody and it's lyrics. The melody is beautiful, yet the lyrics talk about two people who love each other committing suicide, or atleast one is trying to convince the other into a ritual suicide together. That's why they mention romeo and Juliet, not fearing death, the seasons, ect. Songs that contrast are imo some of the greatest pieces of art on the planet because they're so complex yet simple

It doesn't matter if you're the happiest person or an unfortunate weeper
A powerful beast or a terrifying creature
We're all equal in the eyes of the reaper. -

brings me back to the days when I was blessed with my mommy, Aunt, and uncle Greg, and of course, ...the wacky tabacky. I am a totally dumb ball, so I can't smoke that stuff, but as I have been informed numerous times, it is in the Bible. I believe that it is somewhere in exodus. I also learned from my mommy that the song some people may be familiar with is in ecclesiasties chapter 3. 60's song turn turn turn, a time for everything just about. You can look it up, it's almost in the beginning of the Bible. Just in case you may have been interested

When I first heard this song in 76 I knew it would be with me for the rest of my life. One of the best tunes I hold close. He talks about suicide but it could also be that he is dying of an illness. The reason you can barely hear the Cow Bell is because the drummer that is playing the bell didn't want to include it in the song. He thought it was stupid. He was forced to do it though and so he wrapped it with lots of tape. It turned out to be well played and kept the beat and the whole song in check.
