Extremely Dangerous wiring batteries. One wrong connection and you will have a Hydrogen Explosion with hot flying lead and sulfuric acid! This is not for amateur electricians.

The inverter should be connected to 1 and 12, not 10 and 4. Loads should always be connected to the same points as the chargers. Without exception.
Also, that is not a balanced wiring configuration. The left and right banks have a slightly greater workload than the middle bank, so the longevity of the left and right banks will be a little less than the middle bank. Essentially you have three 24v batteries connected in parallel. There is only one way to balance the load with three batteries and that is to connect the positive terminals to 3 equal-length wires and also connect the negative terminals to 3 equal-length wires and then connect the charger/inverter to the end of those wires. -
Believe it would be easier to turn your batteries so you have 4 in a row the long way and wire your plus to minus 3 times that way. Then you just need one more wire each to go across the 3 rows of negative and 3 rows of positives. The wires would be shorter and box would only have to be about 21"d x 48" long. You pull the positive lead off the one end and the negative off the other. A little cleaner look I think.

Can I use that method without the stringing and keeping the positive to negative ?

LDSPrepper. I'm designing an off-grid system for a house not connected to the grid.
1) Do the voltages of your battery strings need to match the voltage of your solar panel strings?
2) Guides I've read online for wiring batteries in series and parallel, has said in more than one location that you should only have 2 strings in parallel. No more. I see you have 3. Thoughts?

What size wire did you use between the batteries? I have a total of 8 batteries, Each battery is 6v and then I want to link 4 of them together to make 2 sets at 24 V.

Batteries move electrons in current flow, not ions.

The negative is coming in at the bottom left but drawing out at bottom right whereas the positive is at top right and drawn on top left: should the draw where possible be on the opposite end of the bank to the input?

Great video... Thanks for sharing with everyone... I am new to this stuff, and am trying to re connect the wires to a zamp 12 volt solar panel. This panel was given to me, but it didn't have the wires or power leads coming off the back of it. There is a two small tabs that I can solder wire to, but I'm not sure if the Pos is on the left or the right ? As I'm looking rfom the panel from the back, I would think that the pos lead would be on right..... Would you by chance know if I'm right about this ? Thanks....

Last night I hooked up a 24 volt battery tender to my battery bank, correctly using ( 8, 6 volt golf cart batteries ) this morning the bank is showing only .04 volts :-( , why would this happen . Please help. Thank you
