No ventilation for the panel, drilled the cable through the roof. What a fucking mess, you basically just ruined your roof for no reason other than you dont know what the hell you are doing. It should have been on spacers for ventilation and the wiring should have been routed anywhere BUT through the roof.

My concern is that there is NO air flow under your panel and this will cook you panel sooner than later .. also without the proper airflow any moisture that gets into the bottom of the panel - between the panel and the roof - is going to sit there and turn to mold and eventually weaken your roof. But once again the biggest concern is the cooking of your panels since there is not ventilation ....

nice information , thanks for doing the video, It will help me install my solar panel

So, why would i want a solar panel on my 5th wheeler permanently!? For the drildo or industrial vibrator? i dunno? why the fuck would you? O yeah, free power :/ what an opening lol
Maths are slightly out too unless your using an MPPT, a PWM chucks away power, the maths would be more VMP 17.5V
So 60w / 17.5VMP = 3.42A.
MPPT would track and hopefully find 17.5V. 3.42A and would convert this to 4.34A approx. 13.8v charging. -
30 amp hours from solar is about 450w. Theoretically the ideal setup with solar is 1 amp per 15 watts. example 150w solar with an mppt charge controller should make 10 amps on a bright sunny day. If you're using a PWM charge controller you might only get half the amperage

If I hook up a secondary battery to the first one does that mean I have double the use time, assuming enough time was given to charge them both? If so is it as simple as connecting the second battery directly to the first?

Good video. I just bought a 1985 Coachman; and am re-doing the solar set up. The panels work fine, but the wiring is a mess. The one part I still don't understand is how to wire the marine batteries into the RV once the wiring to the batteries is done.

I don't understand what a battery having 100 amp hours means. Does that mean after 100 amp hours it is kaput?

Where did you get that fitting for the roof? CGB?

What is the little black box for next next to the solar panel, junction box or what? (you said termanation), can you please exsplane how that works and how it hooks up. Thank you very much.......... Very good video by the way.

Thanks for the help. Yes I've learned that I can't accomplish what I'd like with solar so I went with a generator. Thanks again very much.

No, 4.8a * 115V = 552 watts, much more power than this panel can provide. Remember, Amps * Volts = Watts. There will also be probably 10% power loss when converting the 12vdc to 120vac

I agree with you about sealing the panel too well, Would leave the sides + the front boards in place. Leave the back board off to allow circulation. The front board will keep the wind while driving from trying to lift the panel up.
