Invited and Hosted by Founder of The Mayan Elder Speaks Mario Borjorquez, Don Pedro has a vast knowledge about Mayan cosmology and several years ago was invited for the first time to share his wisdom at the United Nations. He again returned to New York City in fall 2012 and was welcomed at the Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew by young and old alike anticipating a year of shifts and changes ahead. He brought with him knowledge and wisdom that has been passed from generation to generation through his ancestors about the shift of the ages. It was a great blessing the message that he imparted and delivered in the lead-up to the December 21, 2012 winter solstice end of the Maya Calendar. About Don Pedro Pablo Chuc Pech Don Pedro Pablo Chuc Pech is a member of the Mayan Council of Elders and is a retired Primary School teacher. His current work involves preserving Mayan culture and language for students of his pueblo. To that end, he has formed The Academy of Mayan Culture where he is teaching Yucatec Maya, writing in Yucatec Maya, the Maya Clendar, Mayan number and elementary hieroglyphic writing. He has written for his pupils and has collaborated with Mr. Christian Rasmussen of Denmark on several topics of the Mayan Oral Tradition. He is an active participant in natives' meetings with the 'Continental Council of Elders and Gurus of America." He is also a sought after conference presenter on the Mayan culture in general having presented at conference in Finland, France, Germany and the United States. Don Pedro's visit to the Northeast United States in September 2012 marked a historic occasion. Through ceremony and lecture, Don Pedro brought the message of the Mayan wisdom-keepers to the American people.
