omg, these comments are cancer... 51% of humans have 'em, it's nothing to worry about. Go get 'em girl <3 Awesome Ted talk! I hope maybe string theory can piece together what happened before the big bang. They really seem to be onto something there. Not many things more exciting than astrophysics, except for neuroscience (at least for me), so I chose that as my career instead. But astrophysics was a close second!

first, she says that dark matter is something that we cannot see/detect (and the like) in any scientifically possible way, but that it is nevertheless somewhat scientifically respectable to the point that we've given it a name. (I was trying hard at this point not to entertain the thought that dark matter, as she describes it, doesn't have a more "scientifically privileged" status than God). THEN, she talks about how dark matter was probably responsible for the formation of planets (and hence at some much later point, the formation of life) by getting matter/energy/light together. NOW, I can't help but entertain the thought that science not only hasn't disproven the existence of god in any direct way, but that it has somewhat suggested it . (and to those that were kind enough to read this comment, I even think of myself as an atheist occasionally, hence I do not necessarily have a predisposition towards crediting religion or something. In any case, I am not an astronomer or a physicists hence you may forgive me for my ignorance on the subject)
