"Just leave it alone" who says you get to interpret the Quran that way?
-
I think this muslim guy is quite cool and polite enough I'm impressed.

So, the guy tells Dr. Carrier, when you find stuff in holy books that's been taken from pagan sources, other religions, or makes no sense, LEAVE IT ALONE!! Just leave it alone!! Hmmm.... So, I guess in the future Dr Carrier, when you find things in holy books that make no sense, just be vewy.... vewy... quiiiiieeeet!!!

Yeah some bronze aged book explained the intricacies of the universe. Sheesh, religious people are absolutely ridiculous and laughable.

Solid work by Richard Carrier. Here is a summation of the entire discussion:
Nadir: "Whose to say what those words mean, I certainly don't"
Richard: "These words had a common meaning and usage for their time and region, and it renders the entire verse false, meaning it doesn't align with science."
Nadir: "No. I still don't know what those words mean, therefore I'm somehow comfortable saying that the words align with what we know about science."
Much like biblical literalism and biblical 'science', you really have to twist the words to make almost sort of align with what we find in science...but not really.
