Cosmology and the Qur'an
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
This debate is a refutation of Dr. Richard Carrier's article, "Cosmology and the Quran", in which he attempt to point out that Islam is incompatible with modern science. The debate took place over the infidelguy radio show. Since the debate, Dr. Carrier has revised his article and removed many of the gross errors, but yet, he left in and reworded many of his false arguments. Thus, Dr. Carrier was unsuccessful in demonstrating even a single scientific error in the Quran. The original article is no longer on the internet. Dr. Carrier writes for The Secular Web on Infidels.org The Topic of Debate: Cosmology and the Qur'an Nadir Ahmed (www.Examinethetruth.com) vs. Dr. Richard Carrier (www.Infidels.org) For further information on upcoming or previous debates click here http://www.examinethetruth.com/WhatsNew.html

I'm sorry if I sounded abusive, but I don't like arguments being a wild goose chase. If you said "my mistake I didn't know that" I wouldn't have said anything and went away.
-
Wow your courage over the world wide web astounds me. How did you get to be so brave. I must of missed something because I thought being abusive from behind the confines of a computer was the definition of cowardice. But never mind you clearly need educating. So I'll try and say it in language that someone as stupid as you can understand. FUCK OFF!
-
You're too green for sophistry it seems. Or perhaps cowardice mixed with delusional pride prohibits you from conceding to a stupid "creationist". "Clearly I have shown that human laws and morality constructs are far older than islam." That's what you pompously said, to me not the earlier guy. I understand that when you're questioned, you do not answer. Also that whilst you might consider yourself an intellectual, anybody with half a brain can see the cowardice of your discourse. Regards
-
That is the point it doesn't. But you are jumping into the middle of a conversation that you are unaware of the context of. It's like hearing someone say Thatcher is anachronistic and accusing them of being anti establishment when they are talking about straw roofs. Do you understand?
-
If we recognize Jesus, Moses, Ibrahim and Adam as prophets peace be upon them all, how did morals originate from Islam? I don't need context because I was questioning you.
-
If you look at my first comment you will see it is a response to a comment that has been removed? The comment that has been removed claimed that without Islam there is no morality? The big clue is my first sentence. Clearly I have shown that human laws and morality constructs are far older than islam. How old humans are is immaterial and was part of a response to a comment that is no longer there. Your question is pointless because it has no context.
-
I don't care what hamza said or about morality. You said Islam takes credit, stop talking in circles and show me what Islam took credit for. How old humans are is debatable but negligible since islam didn't say we're 6000 years old or any number for that matter.
-
Actually human beings are about 200,000 years old. The point was about moral volition and the indisputable fact that prior to 600AD islam didn't exist so how did human society of 6000 years ago manage to function without morality prior to the Quran. It's called irony. As for the cosmology and embryology of the Quran please go and watch Hamza Tzorsis being embarrassed by his own ignorance when he makes similar ridiculous claims. Interpreting vague sentences as science.
-
what is this babble about human beings are at least 6000 years old? You're mixing up the Quran with the bible. And vague remarks like "islam claims credit" without mentioning anything just shows what your knowledge about this amounts to. Bring me one thing that islam claims credit for. If you mean embryology from the greek philosophers then none of them said what Islam said. If you mean cosmology, then none of them said what Islam said. What else?

it is because it get you away from rational thinking and you fall into emotional irrationalities watch a movie without music or fight after getting drunk...
-
I thought it was because, like wine, music plays with your emotions? By the way, I love your work. Peace be upon you.

Carrier lost hands down.

I would like to see a debate with Shabir and Carrier.

you cant claim authenticity in earlier scripture when it explicitly states in the koran that those who are not muslims it will not be acsepted and that the mesage of the people of the book is corupted. if youve read the koran you will know where it says these things asking me to tell you will just show, when i give you the suras that you dont know your own holy book.
-
funny youv'e written your coment as though you are asking me to do something dificult? koran says human beings at least 6000 years old. koran 1400 years old. i wonder how people made moral desisions before then. but of course they did islam made use of thier knowledge by preserving it in bhagdad. and of course islam claims credit for all the knowledge of the cultures it absorbed whilst denying responsibillity for any of the medeval practices which it has failed to stop these cultures using?
-
if i was able to get god to appear in your living room and tell you face to face that the koran was flawed you would still think it was a trick or a mistake. reason? so you wernt born into a muslim fammilly then.
-
koran is full of mistakes the word koran orqueran is from the syraic christian its not even an arrabic word origionally the miracle of the koran is that despite all the evidence millions of people manage to convince themeselves of its authenticity and infallabillity. know that is amaizing.
