Thank you so much . I'm in the same position I'm 22 years old in college now for Respiratory Therapists. My passion is hair tho. But I would really love to get my degree as well. But I question should I start doing what I dream about every night now or put it on hold until I get that degree I want . Because I want both you know. Please write back on what you would do , appreciate it !

good for you. i'm 42 and contemplating going.. it is never too late. sometimes it takes awhile to decide what you want to do. college is not for everyone.

I love this video soo much. I'm a junior in high school and I've always pretty much hated school. It's getting worse now since I have to listen to all my classmates talking about how stupid people are for not going to college. It sucks, and I could rant about this for hours. I'm always reluctant to tell people that I want to go to cosmetology school because they ALWAYS have something negative to say about it..mostly my mom though. -.- Ugh..but I'm gonna do it anyway. n_n

I'm a junior in High School right now, and I know what you mean. Everyone is talking about what they want to go to college for, and when they ask me and I say cosmetology they look at me funny. I'm starting my Cosmetology school next year, despite what they say because that's what I love doing, and regardless of what they say; I always will enjoy it. I'm glad you made this series, so I could have an idea of how things would be.

Glad I saw this. I am 27 and 3 credits(1 class) away from having an Asoc. of Science, BUT i jus decided to go ahead and follow my passion and begin cosmetology school in March. Scared to tell my mom tho. Uh, been doing hair as a part time job for over 10 years, and I am more excited than I've eva been. My mom won't be happy when she finds out, but I am overboard with joy.

Hi, just came across your channel. I can relate so much, but when I was younger, I only had people make me believe that "you have to go to college." Now, many years later, I totally regret that I didn't realize that it was an option instead of letting all the adults poison my mind that I had to do something professional/ in business. If only I could go back, but obviously I can't. And Paul Mitchelll! That would have been my ultimate dream! Glad you were smart enough to do what you love!

Love, go to Paul Mitchell or any other beauty school. I went to beauty school at 18 had a kid, her mom took off and I was a single dad. Later went to nursing school because I loved both hair and makeup and the medical field. But you have so many options in the beauty world if you want to travel and meet interesting people especially in LA where you have tons of hospitals looking for nurses and makeup and hair people.

It is never a bad thing to have your degree!! However its your life and you should follow your passion..If you love what you do it is impossible not to be successful!

I'm so glad I found this! I just started Community College and I started to do my basics for Dental Hygiene. My grandma and mom push medical field down my throat. I tried the classes out and found out they weren't for me. I told my mom I wanted to go to Paul Mitchell and she wasn't happy but supported me. On the other hand, my grandmother pretty much said she disowns me and called me foolish. She said if I go to Paul Mitchell I'm wasting my life. It really hurt to hear that from someone u love.

I always knew college was not right for me, i struggled in school so much. i always thought i was just going to be a loser who didn't do anything after highschool, then i started watching youtube videos, and fell in love with makeup and hair. from then on i found something that i love and that i want to do forever! I hate when people say rude comments. It puts me down, but i love what i do and so excited to continue with this career path! I start regency on october 8th! and so excited!
