I was born in 1987.. And I was raised on bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure, Peter Gabriel, NIN, Enya and of course.. Jesus and Mary Chain... Then i went through my whole punk rock phase from the ages of 13 to 17 .. Then I just started listening to anything and everything that was unique, original and underground.. I love BJM, BRMC, JAMC and SPACEMEN 3. I've been listening to these bands the past few years after discovering BJM and watching DIG!..and I have to say I love all this shit!
-
I regret i never got to see them perform!
-
great band - love this track
-
What a tune. And how the hell does he carry that note? Simply stunning.
-
well i think spacemen 3 is a major influence for brian jonestown massacre where Peter Hayes played for a while so this must be it. on the contrary i believe the guitar sound of JAMC is similar to the BRMC. lets just say its a hybrid of spacemen 3's psychedelia and JAMC's shoegazy sound!
-
Interestingly, Jim Reid himself (from JAMC) was quoted a few years ago as saying he thought BRMC sounded more like Spacemen 3 than JAMC. Personally, I agree.
-
well not exactly. you see where brian jonestown massacre got some influence and gave it to brmc. if you are looking for the inspiration of brmc in the 80s there is only one band. jesus and mary chain

<3 !
-
Hey that's what I just said!
-
I see where Black Rebel Motorcycle Club got some influence...
-
possibly the most overlooked influential band of the 80's.
