How to free up space on your computers hard drive. This video takes a look at a newly installed Windows 8 pro and in particular how we can clean up old Windows files to free up more space on a drive. Every time you upgrade Windows it creates a Windows.old file which contains the files from the version of Windows you upgraded from. This is a useful tool for recovering data you may not have backed up before you upgraded Windows. The thing is, once you are happy you have all your files in your new operating system the windows.old folder on your C: drive is not really needed and just takes up a lot of space you could be using for other things. So, in this video I take a look at how to remove that folder and also how cleaning your hard drive in this way can help you keep on top of the redundant files on your computer which in turn will help speed up your system.

i did this and i actually lost space o.O i had 24 gigs of free space and now its down to 19.3 how the heck did that happen?? desperate need of help on how to find out whats taking up so much space, i have like 4 games that r only about 4 gigs each, dnt really have music on my computer just 20 songs. i have 99.8 gigs taken up

My computer mysterious keeps loosing 20+gb at a time without me doing anything? I have windows 8 and I went from 241gb to 188gb in a few days only downloading a few videos of 1gb or less? I can't manage to free up any disk space to get back gb? I have no clue how I can lose so many gbs without downloading massive files.
