This video is made for Class V & VI std. BENGALI medium students of India & Bangladesh. Like all planets in our solar system, the Earth is in an elliptical orbit around our Sun. Earth takes roughly 365 days to go around the Sun once & also it takes 24 hours—a solar day—for Earth to complete a full rotation about its axis relative to the Sun so that the Sun returns to the meridian. The orbital speed of the Earth around the Sun averages about 30 km/s. The Moon takes 27.3 days both to rotate on its axis and to orbit Earth, the moon always shows us the same face. We see the moon because of reflected sunlight. How much of it we see depends on its position in relation to Earth and the Sun.
