what are the parallels then?

@beastlyonion There are many contradictions: in order to have all power, you must relinquish all power. In order to have what you want, you must be proactive and travel the road ahead. It is difficult (I know) to give up the empty fears. Like empty calories, they burden us. Imagine that someone feared seeing a fun movie. What can we say to change their mind? Nothing! They must make their own decisions, in their own time. Long ago, I realized I cannot change anyone else. :o)

@david203 hmm very good point, if you can extend your control to that area as well, then more power to you! i think itll take some practive and a much larger motivation for me to go down that road though
-
@beastlyonion These comments are too short to give a good answer. The fullness is not away from here, it is the fullness of Now. It is like waking up. I'm not talking about a vacation, I'm talking about waking up to just existing, now. Yes, if you keep visiting that place (by practicing transcending regularly), it will change you. You will become less angry, more loving. Yes, you can get there briefly from drugs, but then you have to deal with the dullness they create. No more room
-
@david203 it is a fullness away from here, and not even considering now! which scares me lol I feel like you're right about the individuality thing, and if you keep visitin that place, will it change who you are as a person.. Ive been there once from a shroom induced trip and i havent been the same since.. Why change there when you can live and be here?
-
@beastlyonion Yes, it would seem that way. I always believed my scientific training, that we are essentially sensing an outside, material world and making an internal map of part of that world, using intelligence, memory, etc. But since learning Transcendental Meditation some years ago, I've found that pure awareness is not nothingness, but very much a fullness, perhaps the source of all individuality. Rather surprising.
-
@david203 I think your view is wrong because there is nothing outside the senses.. no sight, no smell, no taste, no touch, no hearing.. then what are you observing? your imagination? the tendency of your mind to fathom something when you are thinking of nothing? It sounds like you have not actually reached the point of pure awareness.. otherwise you wouldnt perceive anything.. your body would physiologically register stimulii and act. Your perception is your control of REAL things.. like a bike
-
@beastlyonion Perception is actually the tiniest dream on the surface of reality. Reality is actually known inside, deep within. We know it when we ignore the senses and pay attention to pure Awareness. When clearly experienced, That is fulfillment. Your view may differ from mine, and that's fine.

perception is reality!

"That which is infinite cannot be many, for many-ness is a finite concept. To have infinity you must identify or define the infinity as unity; otherwise, the term does not have any referent or meaning. In an infinite Creator there is only unity" - The Law of One

same with the universe

As awsome as that was to watch. What the hell was it i was watching? >_> In lamens terms somebody please lol.

@flux627 lmao

CORN ONNNNN, THE COBBBBBB

infinity works on ALL levels, have you ever thought that if you could keep zooming in on somthing, would you ever hit an end? How could you?!!
-
I'm not too supportive of the possibilities of an infinite causal chain. Sure, the fractuals prove its possible in theory, but to have quantitative infinity at an atomic level sounds like absolute madness. I think that at a certain level determinism breaks down. That would mean that whatever the universe originated from would be **TRUELY** random in that sense. Of course it would be the only truely random cause. A sort of timeless nexus. Wouldn't this evade the horrors of infinite regress?
-
I've recently been better educated on the topic. I recommend Who's Afraid of Schrodinger's Cat? as a good source of information on the topic and many others.
-
This happens even though these systems are deterministic, meaning that their future dynamics are fully determined by their initial conditions, with no random elements involved. In other words, the deterministic nature of these systems does not make them predictable.
-
Chaos theory is a field of study in mathematics studying the behavior of dynamic systems that are highly sensitive to initial conditions. This sensitivity is popularly referred to as the butterfly effect. Small differences in initial conditions (such as those due to rounding errors in numerical computation) yield widely diverging outcomes for chaotic systems, rendering long-term prediction impossible in general.
