Just a helpful tip: If you walk up to a flipped vehicle and press "tab" it will flip back upright.

Can you try making a base in a cave or make a cave in the ground so that when your making items you don't have to worry about storms and you can make little holes on the top so the solar generators work

Spy you can always change the terrain and make the land flat by bringing the ground up
