Broken LCD to Solar Panel recycling green DIY Project Part 1 I took a broken 17.1 LCD laptop screen and recycled it into a Solar panel. This is the perfect green DIY project! I will be using broken solar cells with standard tabbing wire. Im going to give this solar panel to one of my 8000 subscribers, just shoot me a comment or video response as to why you need it or how you will use it. The best response wins! I signed the LCD Solar panel and want to thank everyone for all their support. Keep your eye out for the other parts to this video. All the best, -Pete Mixcatcom

Use the fresnel lense to amplify the light

the CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent light) tubes and the inverter board, they hook up to, are really worth keeping!
they are impressively bright, last a long time and are pretty energy efficient. often you can just pull out the CCFL assembly including the reflector, but the complete backlight panel makes a pretty cool light source too. the inverter boards usually run off 12Vdc. you just have to find the + and -, and the one pin, that tells the board to power up, when conneted to the positive.
ps: be carefull not to break the tubes, they contain mercury! -
maybe put "putting solar panels on a laptop screen frame" on the title of the video? "lcd solar panel" my.......
