We are wasting time. We should be looking for life as we know it around F, G and K stars... not Red Dwarfs, Brown Dwarfs or Jupiters.
-
If we were ever to send a probe out to that planet, I think we would need to have human-like AI to run the drone's computers and relay information back to earth
-
We must create the navigator gene and ride the currents of the warp to it.
-
editing is annoying, fix it and everything is good

Neat kickstarter project to look for more Earth like planets around the Alpha Centauri star system https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/projectblue/project-blue-a-space-telescope-to-photograph-anoth
-
Sid Meir's Alpha Centauri is one of my favorite games... not sure if anyone else watching found themselves thinking about that, though

HA

i really hope the millenium falcon is true si i could jump to hyper space and leave this junk planet.
-
18,000 years ......... i hear that and instantly wish i was born a few thousand years in the future
-
GUYS! Have yall seen the Kickstarter to recreate Voyager's Golden Record?!?! I'm very excited about this and trying not to all caps but i dont know any space nerds IRL so LOOK AT IT!

Am I the only one thinks that even simple life just does not just happen. Something that can copy it's self. Can get energy from its surroundings and survive. It has to divided it's self along with instructions on how to reproduce itself. How is it ever going to accidentally happen? I know that some experiments showing that some biological chemicals can be created by accident. But still that's a very very very long way from living reproducing life form! Please explain?

planes to send a coin sized mini probe are in motion it will take 20 years to get there though but that's kinda amazing
-
im gonna shift planet focus on colony ship research it ill be done in 14 turns
-
2 years we will know for sure if its a barren rock or a Venus or an actual terrestrial world like mars and earth
-
That's so cool
-
Well u guys do realize that even if we were to find a planet to colonize, we wouldn't be part of it either.. right?
-
Does this mean we are looking 4.2 light years into the past of the planet? There could be real civilizations there at that point. They could also be looking at earth and see nothing but jungles and oceans.
-
Let's just see what it looks like first eh?
-
If we send a ship at 0.5 light speed, it will reach in like 9 years.
