BOSS CH-1 VS. Behringer UC200 Chorus Pedal

Chorus Pedal Shootout! Boss CH-1 VS Behringer UC200 Stratocaster - pedals - Fender hotrod deville 4x10 The Behringer is a much lower price compared to the Boss, I find the sounds relatively the same, The UC200 has a little more intensity where the CH-1 is smoother. The bypass signal on the boss is well done (for a buffered bypass pedal) however the Behringer lets through a small pulsing sound (changes with 'Rate' knob) Due to the poor bypass.... The Boss CH-1 is the winner! However they sound very alike. Thanks for watching!

Cool sound this Behringer chorus pedal.
Perfect for home players. -

Tune your guitar man.

I see that is too good musicants here, i have UC200 and it´s sounds awesome , damn! Try to use ears not brand !!

BOSS is much better. I don't like Behringer. They just copied BOSS' design and changed it by the smallest detail to avoid copyright claims

I have a behringer and in real life, It sounds much worse, youtube compression helped fix it.

I don't hear any big difference, both sound very similar and not very good. Nowadays most ot the pedals use smd and are all the same. I have one Boss and it uses the same kind of low cost electronic switch as Ibanez and Behringer. The only difference is that the Behringer is made of plastic, like cars... Behringer has also a low cost little series of (big) pedals made of metal, the vintage series; distortion, overdrive, phaser, tube monster and time machine, most of them being a copy of a famous Electro-Harmonix pedal, but no chorus in this series. By the way Electro-Harmonix chorus pedal sound much better, the Small Clone for instance is great.

Just a little insight. Uli Behringer is a brilliant man when it comes to business acumen. When it comes to creating designs that are honest and whole that is another thing altogether. aside from the first synthesizer UB-1 Behringher has focused on copying good products and turning them to junk. These knock off pedals are pure garbage in every aspect. When they first appeared on Behringer's website they were exact clones of BOSS pedals. Many even bore the same model numbers. Disgusting to say the least. Behringer changed the bottom contour of the pedal housing to a rounded look and changed a few model numbers to avoid the lawsuit monsters. Just open one of these noise boxes and you will see why you got what you paid for. The vintage series that mimics ELECTRO HARMONICS pedals don't even have real foot switches. They have a fake half switch made to look like a switch. Underneath the half switch lies a cheap tactile surface mount switch that blows out just by looking at it. All the 1/4" jacks are the cheapest build. Everything is plastic. The PCB designs are made to optimize board layouts for the pick and place machines in Behringer's new factory that they pump these pedals out of. Consequently the noise level and interference is off the charts. Parts are not laid out with tone in mind. And onto the pots. These again are surface mounted micro garbage as is all of the parts on the board. Even the chips are copies of real deals and may even be COSM in some instances. I have listened to these pedals and own the vintage phaser clone, The real pedals always sounded better or at least different. Sounds nice but truly my money was wasted. Do not be fooled. Boss pedals are priced fair and right and when used proper will last a lifetime. Also BOSS pedals sound great and have the potential to increase in value over time. I know boutique and pedal mod is the new flavor of the decade but remember in the 1980's when modding your vintage with new parts was the hot deal. So many vintage strats ruined in the 80's with new parts. The same thing is happening now with classic pedals. Ten years from now you wont be able to by an unmolested vintage BOSS pedal. They will all be modded or copied by Behringer. Avoid Behringer. Great video by the way. Boss sounded smoother and less shrill to my ears.

BOSS sounds better... Behringer is not that bad although. It all depends on the size of your pockets

Both off is the best sound ;-)

Just checked same components but different price! :)

I have that Behringer UC200 and it sounds way better when you use your ears and not your eyes. Way better than the chorus on my Boss GT8. Bigger price tag doesn't always equal better sound.
I just recently bought a Behringer PB1000 along with about 20 Behringer stomp boxes. There amazing pedals for the money.
I'm not a huge fan of Boss anymore. As far as the multi effects units go, Line 6 are more innovative and generally sound better and have better more frequent updates to there products. -
Boss is pretty much better.
-
The Boss has that "dog barking" sound that is just so odd to me.
-
the difference boss is sound linear, but behringer the sound is metallos in max setting.

Use a mic next time so we can actually hear the tone...
