This is not a tomorrow video. This is 15th century boring.
More vision, less soul crushing Nasa boredom. -
G'day,
Yay Team..!
About the only thing you missed is that First Quarter to Last Quarter you can use a well set-up Sundial to tell the Time at Night, by Moonlight..., as long as the Dial uses a Sloping Gnommon accurate for the local Lattitude.
{ Sundials which work by measuring the Altitude of the Sun, rather than it's Azimuth (like Ring Dials or Capuchin Dials...) won't work so well, but if you reverse the Seasonal Correction on them by swapping "December" with "June" then it should work.
I have a couple of Capuchin Dials, so next Full Moon I'll try them and find out....}.
Midnight is depicted accurately on the Full Moon, and the Correction-Factor is 48 minutes per night ; the Dial indicates Fast, in the week before, and Slow in the week after each Full Moon...
If you remove Artificial Light then Human Women revert to ovulating on the Full Moon, when the bedroom is softly lit & everybody looks their best by Moonlight, and in the wee small hours the Midwife can see to walk between the Houses to deliver the Babies (because it takes 9 Moonths to build a Baby).
So, back before the invention of the Oil-Lamp allowed the wealthy to desynchronise their women, all Human Births used to cluster around the Full Moon, because that was when the Pregnancies were concieved..; presumably, it was the Midwives who noticed the Sun Rising in a different Constellation at every Crop of Babies, and considering that even with Electric Lights Schizophrenia and Depression rates are different according to Season of Birth..., then apparently once upon a time, Astro-Psychology was a perfectly Observation-Based Field of Study...(?) !
And therefore, perhaps, Moonlight might be the most important sight to bright your Dial...?
Have a good one,
;-p

The two full moons in a month is not quite accurate. It originally means the third full moon in a season (time between equinoxes and solstices) that has four.
Sky and Telescope made the error of claiming it was the second full moon in a month, and that misinterpretation has caught on since.
I just figure that this is at least worth mentioning in a video on blue moons. -
It turns out blue moons in one month are the only moons that are not seen standing alone. They do have a dream in their hearts. They do have a love of their own.
