7. That is a ignorant lie, the planets do not orbit the sun and they do not orbit at different speeds for no reason. The sun is actually speeding through the solar system away from the big bang. All the matter of the universe pulls on the sun also which causes a spiral galaxy effect within the milky way (though scientist are now not sure we are actually part of the milky way galaxy). The sun is dragging all the planets and moons while the planets drag the closest moons. all within two merged galaxies spinning at different rates, we are between both so scientist are not sure which one we came with. That is why there is a spot in the south pole that is forever dark and the north pole has a spot that is forever light, because compared to the earth the sun is actually above the equator and we do not orbit the sun. The space we orbit is called the barycenter of our solar system. But in reality each planet has a slightly different barycenter and the orbits flow out a slight angle instead of straight out. It's three dimensional thinking vs 1900's thinking that bill nye is teaching.
