Hi Xoroaster Zoroaster,
There are many clever ideas floating around, but many who quote scripture lack a comprehensive appreciation of the indelible truth and the hidden sophisticated inerrant message it spells out. Taking the whole council of G-d is part of the key in the imperative Jesus commanded “be ye not deceived”.
An interesting perspective, with good historical points regarding the move to a heliocentric worldview, compounded by the abuses of those religious leaders who claimed religion, but were found naked in their sins. Now the biblical verses cited in the video refer to the millennial reign of the Lord AFTER his second coming – not the creative narrative as portrayed in the video. This is why Jesus (Yeshua) stated the law would not pass in Matt 5 until the Heavens (as in plural) and the Earth would pass away – notice that crucial point “he Messiah said the "heavens and earth shall pass away” further study in Revelation 21 makes it clear this is after his second coming (maybe even after the millennium).
The Psalms used and the re-emphasis placed in 1st Chronicles are all consistent with a millennium period, when the Lord has returned to reign righteously. This plausibly accounts for why the psalms cited also state “he shall JUDGE the people righteously” (Psalms 96:10), and “clothed with MAJESTY (as the king of kings); the LORD is clothed with strength” (i.e. full power and glory). "The world shall not be moved" – means after the old heaven and earth pass away and there is no sun or moon (read Revelation 21:1; 21:23) suggesting there is no orbital pattern to follow at that point.
This then suggests a Geocentric model takes over with the earth being the epicentre, throne place and new celestial kingdom, especially if on face value in Revelation there really is no Sun in the millennial period and the Lord is the light at this future time. The above is also wholly congruent with Messiah and his his statement "I am the light of the world" (one of 7 x "I am" statements) referenced by Jesus in the New Testament (also a "remez", or hint to the "I AM" statement found in Exodus). Also the reference to Psalm 104:5 is misquoted (at least in relation to the KJV)...“it should say “can never be RE-moved” – again meaning the new kingdom depicted in Rev 21 will come down, the earth will be restored to a paradisaical state and none shall replace it.
Be ye not deceived is our imperative and command from the Messiah backed up by the next book after Psalms called Proverbs (specifically chapter 14: 6-8):
6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
The wisdom of man is nothing in the eyes of G-d, who maketh his enemies his footstool (Psalms 110:1) -
well 300 years trying to prove that it moves, all experiments failed :), until the day of today...same as evolution!

Good point. There's a lot of stuff in the Bible that would contradict science such as: Jesus turning water into wine, Jesus' healings/miracles, Virgin Birth, etc.... The reason we know Jesus rose from the dead is that that was the whole point of why He came to Earth. Even after he rose from the dead, the Bible states that his disciples viewed Him again. So, it is because of the Biblical context as to why we would have to believe that He was literally resurrected.
-
"Obviously, in the Bible the Earth "not moving" means something else...." I agree. It sounds rather unscientific, to assume that the earth does not move. Similarly, people waking up from the dead sounds rather unscientific. So, in essence, when the Bible says that Jesus died and then resurrected, it means something else too, right?
-
The Bible also states that "the righteous shall not be moved" - so what, does this mean that all of God's people are supposed to not walk around? Obviously, in the Bible the Earth "not moving" means something else.... something more akin to the way it states that righteous shall not be moved.

ahem, the earth orbital path does rotate. I.e. the eliptic orbit around the sun rotates around the sun very slowly over several thousands of years. This was predicted by Einstein's theory of general relativity and observed and thus confirmed on observations of mercury some time after Einstein made his predictions. So your biblical literalist is even wrong in that statement. Where will he move his goal post to next?

plausible explanation for evrything as we no it. until we can find an alternative that out weighs the creationism point of view it would be foolish and unscientific to adopt any other beleif, in the feild of science when nothing has been proven we can only go with the most likely and reasonable option, if not were not really scientist were just another group of ppl beleiving what we want.
-
is a million to 1 if neither is proven the scientist as a scientist must go with the most likely and theirfore the most logical possibility which is that something that is greater than us and is greater than creation and not bound by the laws with in creation created it, just because of the sheer fact neither is proven but the likely hood of creation by a creator far exceeds any other possibility so any real scientist that doesnt mind saying God would logically assume it to be the most
-
infact when we reinact creation threw computer programing we see how nesscary it is to be the creator outside of creation and not confined by the laws we are confined by, we can see that you would have to be a bigger force outside of the box that can set evrything in its position and then introduce the laws for evrything to work as it currently does the chances of this happpening by chance are 1 in a million and the chances of creation being set up this way by something not bound by our laws
-
can the earth or any planet be moved from its line of orbit the last time i checked it was held in place by all the other planets and evrything else that created itself, the notion that evrything is the way it is by chance is ubsurd judgeing by the extremely mathematical/strategic positioning of evrthing as we no it we can reinact this with computer programing and play God but we will only realize how nesscary God is to creation observe the balance each planet/star lends to the next

The heavens and the earth were made before anything else was made and there was darkness covering the surface of the earth until the first day there was light (on earth). The narrative is from the perspective of beiing on earth. The Sun and the moon were not seen until the fourth day. The Bible says many times that the universe was stretched out, something science has learned recently. God is the Maker of all things and the function hydrogen has inside of us proves it. watch?v=qZev7hb40uk

@Danmill23 Hey thanks mate. I've just ran through the first two of your videos. It's interesting stuff. I'm curious to see how it ends. ;-D

It's kind of understandable, when viewing what happened with Galileo, that Copernicus was probably wise to keep his findings to himself until he died. Bruno should have taken the Copernian view.
-
@Arikiel Right on my friend. They've kind of forgotten the "controversy" with time. But Evolution isn't the only problem with Creationist ideology. I think, even a very minimal exploration of the bible or Christian dogma reveals far too many holes for it to be reasonably believed.

@TheraminTrees Thanks Mr Trees. ;-D I've always thought your voice-over abilities are most excellent. And the accent doesn't hurt. I'm fighting 30 something years of exchanges with rednecks. I have to work to keep that accent from coming too far out. ;-D Been considering Animation. But I decided to dig deep into Keynote, and see what I could come up with. I think I'll probably keep exploring Keynote, until I decide to do something more complex.

Love your spinning cosmology wheel! It's amusing to see the contortions people attempt to reinterpret all those nail-in-the-coffin biblical references. Someone I once interacted with even tried to assert that the 'foundations' meant the Earth's 'orbit path', which could 'never be moved'. Today's literal word is tomorrow's metaphor. Have to say, you've got one great voice-over voice Mr Roaster.

@AuntieDiluvian He should have let us eat more of the Tree of Knowledge. Took us way too long to figure out we weren't too smart. ;-D

Nice. And god said, let there be black holes, that suck stuff into them. Like brains into religion.
