But the Sun is tiny compared to the solar system which is tiny compared to the distance to the next star. Oh, did we mention that there are over 100 billion stars in our galaxy (which is about 100,000 light years in diameter) which is one of hundreds of billions of galaxies in just the observable universe (which might be infinite for all we know). Don't feel small. We find it liberating. Your everyday human stresses are nothing compared to this enormity that we are a part of. Enjoy the fact that we get to be part of this vastness! About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content. For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything Subscribe to Khan Academy’s Cosmology & Astronomy channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChNPnEkW8LYZ5Rwi8_A2-DA?sub_confirmation=1 Subscribe to Khan Academy: https://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=khanacademy

May I ask what draw software you are using?

I love the fact that he repeats every sentence. If I miss it once, I won't miss it the second time.

Even faster, even faster , even faster..

Can you do the same thing for a red super giant star

I'm doing Physics GCSE and this is so much help. It's just explained everything rather than giving me straight facts to learn. Thank you.

EVEN!

I keep hearing how our sun ejects Helium 3 and Helium 4, which can be collected in our atmosphere, or be baked in surfaces found on the moon which has no atmosphere. My question is that any star such as ours (G2 main sequence) does it always eject some nuclear-synthesised material throughout its life?

Maybe it is something to do with the occurrence of fusions involving He with atomic mass of 2 and 4? Otherwise no idea, WE NEED THE ANSWER!

You've inspired me to go back into education ! thanks !

Why do 2 Helium atoms never fuse into Beryllium? I've read that all Beryllium in the universe is from the Big Bang and it never is created by Red Giants.
-
The largest red hypergiant ever discovered has 2000 times the radius of the sun, but is only 3000K at the surface.

I search so hard to find a good explanation for red giants, finnaly I found it :)

2 hydrogen to form deuterium, then another hydrogen for helium-3, and lastly two helium-3's to make helium 4 (with 2 protons)and 1 hydrogen atom, or one He-3 and 1 H for helium-4 (1 proton). not mentioning neutrinos, positrons, etc. i was going to make another post about something but decided not to post it, but i figured typing this for nothing would be a waste
-
this was a little hard to follow. maybe its because i already understand the concept but it sounded like he said helium is less mass than the hydrogen made to fuse it, but when all the hydrogen is used up there is more mass somehow, and even though all the hydrogen has been used up, its still fusing into helium.

We're going to die in 4.5 bn years because of this video

Why does Helium forms directly Carbon and Oxigen instead if Lithium?
