The Sun orbits the Milky Way galaxy about once every 200 million years. 4. It is now thought that the universe consists of about five per cent normal matter, 25 per cent dark matter and 70 per cent dark energy. 5. One light year, which is the distance light travels in a year, is equal to about 5,880 billion miles. The Sun burns 600 million tons of hydrogen every second but there’s enough there for it to keep going for about another five billion years. 9.
