16:47 Who says Earth will become uninhabitable in 50 million years?
-
17:00 The fact that Phobos will break apart or collide with Mars in 30 million years isn't a valid objection to having a population on Mars as a backup for human civilization. If we can solve the problem of establishing a self-sustaining colony on Mars, we can solve the problem of nudging Phobos into a stable or receding orbit. Also, having a backup of humanity for 30 million years starting now sounds like a great deal. Even if it has an expiration date.

Love this stuff!

@16:45 Does Pamela claim earth will be uninhabitable in 30-50 million years? From natural processes? Seem quite improbable and far off the around 1 billion years of complex life and 3-4 billion years of for all life I have heard life in all it's forms has left on earth.

Could you slowly shift Phobos into a higher orbit?
-
6:30 - "Seven Eves" could have happened on Mars! Er Ma Gerd!

No, you edited out the cable-talk, that bit was funny! :-)
20 inch back yard telescope, yes please! That was a cool site for buying telescopes, dear Santa https://www.optcorp.com/asa-600-mm-f-8-ritchey-chretien-telescope.html
@pamela: Try the audio book of Contact read by Jodie Foster. -
Could Phobos and Deimos be volcanic debris from Olympus Mons?

+Pamela Gay I definitely second everyone ever on watching/reading The Expanse. Loved the show, have started to read the first book now and love it as well.
