The IPCC has already acknowledged that the suspected global warming enhancement of storms is actually NOT a thing, because the data from the last few decades don't support the hypothesis. This has nothing to do with global warming as a viable theory, it's just that the expected increase in both severity & frequency of storms, droughts, and other weather phenomena has simply not been observed. Since the statement is unsupported by data, the IPCC no longer supports the hypothesis.

Maybe if the arctic melts the temperature difference between the equator and the arctic will decrease and the storms won't have such a strong gradient to feed them?
