Join +Fraser Cain and +Pamela Gay for a live episode of Astronomy Cast. We'll record our 30-minute show, and then stay tuned for them to answer questions! Ep. 416: Fireballs from the Sky! Every now and then we look up and see bright fiery balls falling from the sky. Don't panic, these are just bolides. Sometimes they leave trails, sometimes they explode, and sometimes they survive all the way to the ground.

Is there any work being done to find meteors that originated outside the solar system? Like radar tracking to find stuff coming in faster than 72km/s (Earths orbital speed + solar system escape speed at Earths orbit).
On the SciFi-front, Rendezvous with Rama, I read it a couple of years ago, now I´m lazy and listen to it instead. -
Awesome show Fraser and Dr. Pamela!
Just a quick question: I noticed that Pamela mentioned a couple of times that she does a fair amount of programming/coding in her space/astronomy work.
I was wondering which programming languages she uses the most now-a-days (and also what her favorite programming language is)? -
Read the novel Seveneves if you want to hear a story about how a large number of bolides would affect the earth

A new novel that might be interesting is: The Medusa Chronicles by Stephen Baxter and Alastair Reynolds based on Arthur Clarke's story.

Can we send ISS to Mars by attaching propulsion rockets and navigational system? Since ISS is already equipped for long term habitation and is already in orbit, saving $$$. I can't think of better thing to do with ISS....
