Streamed live on Mar 21, 2016 Join +Fraser Cain and +Pamela Gay for a live episode of Astronomy Cast. We'll record our 30-minute show, and then stay tuned for them to answer questions! Astronomy Cast Ep. 408: Universe Cannibalism We've talked about stellar cannibalism and galactic cannibalism, but now it's time to take this concept to its logical extreme - universe cannibalism. In the multiverse theory of physics we live in just one of a vast range of universes which might interact with each other. Let's look for the evidence.

You guys look completely different than I imagined lol. I only heard your podcast on Spotify before.

Stop flirting and get on with it. Just do it.
-
What is the probability of our current Universe being a product of an earlier collision?
-
In Soviet Russia....

I sent an email to Universe Today addressed to Fraiser Cain with a link to an article that briefly exposes the thesis of Alexander Kashlinsky, a NASA cosmologist, according to which dark matter may be made of black holes that formed in the very early universe, before visible
light. Precisely what you say here on 45:50 -
If the universe collides on me and I die... would I see it coming or just fall dead without warning?
Or, rather, let's phrase it this way: The good news is that we discovered a parallel universe. The bad news is... we collided with it and we're all dead. -
OMG was that 10 whole minuets of babbling!!
-
Wait... In the event of a merger of two universes, why assume this mirror of death would only come at us at the speed of light? Space its self can travel faster than light...
-
Question: Why assume that two universes that make contact would "bounce" off of each other. Using the paradigm of bubbles, multiverse would then be seen as a foam. In a foam, bubbles stick together, creating relatively flat surfaces at their meeting points. Might our universe not be surrounded by other universes, and might not two universes with only very slightly different pressures simply join to make a larger bubble, much in the same way that two galactic super-massive black holes would eventually coalesce into a larger supermassive black hole, joining the two galaxies non-violently into one, without any damage to either, such as the projected union of Milky Way and Andromeda?

Maybe your internet rubbed up against another parallel internet and the data loss was your stream passing through the "i-axis of evil" bruise that can not support your version of internet.

oh well ! abouth the wifi! come to rmania! you have at least 1 Mb on every line or wifi :)

its all a theory based on a theory ........ so meh lol science cant prove any of this ..... the big bang is also a theory lol science is shit ..... lol

simulatiiiiion theeeeooooryyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's much cheaper! So why can't dark matter be evidence of these other universes? Maybe the two universes are attracted to one another slightly and our normal matter gets attracted too and sits in these spots that are connected to another universe. the longer we hang out there the more mass our galaxy seems to have and more outside matter (including other galaxies) that might drift toward you. Maybe colliding and instigating cannibalism within our own universe as we see on the mass scale in the cosmos!!!!!!!!!!!!! down with the overlords!! thnx for the video guys :)

Wonderful. Hope I can get my 15 year old daughter to tune into these.
-
Too much headroom Mr. Cain. Interesting vid though.
-
I wish my wife could be as scientifically oriented as Pamela. Damn that's hot.

I wonder what would be in-between these bubbles where they don't touch. Certainly spacetime doesn't exist there. Perhaps there are universe bubbles made out of something other than spacetime as we know it?!
And the age-told tired questions that can seemingly be asked at any time, how far do these multiverses extend? How many are there? And what is beyond them?
