I'm disappointed in Dr. Gay's comments at the beginning about how disappointed she is in the fact that NASA HQ is not a big expensive and impressive building. I find the ability to organize and manage a hugely expensive organization from a small rented cube-farm impresses me. An organization making the most with what they have and not spending the money in the wrong places. That's just smart management. I'd rather see more projects bringing in smart science with the money instead of some fancy building to house the executives. NASA is here to impress the world with our achievements NOT our fancy headquarters.

Guys !! That episode was a fuck up. We are loosing perspective here. The bi-line suggests we are supposed to be talking about scientific (and philosophical) investigation and how that knowledge is developed. Can we get back to the cutting edge please :) Don't get me wrong . . I am an ardent fan !!

I really liked this episode.
I get so angry when you here <insert expletive> congressman spewing bile about how we need to focus on job creation rather than "pie in the sky" stuff like going back to the moon or going to Mars. Don't they realize that funding science IS job creation? It's like they think that what NASA does is stuff a rocket full of money and launch it into space. All that money is going to jobs and into the economy.
blue collar jobs are increasingly moving to other countries that can do them cheaper. this is where we need to invest. solving problems and overcoming obsticles is an integral part of the American mentality. These needs to be celebrated and supported. -
