AS Solar's DIY Solar Panel Installation, Part 3: Mounting the Kinetic rail
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Part 3 - Watch a solar expert demonstrate how to install a Do It Yourself (DIY) solar panel kit. With this easy to follow guide, you can now easily install a roof solar panel system in your home! Here in Part 3 the add the Kinetic K-Rail to the K-Flash we put up in Part 2. We position our rails so there's a gap in the middle so we can also show you how to join rails end-to-end, and how to properly use the WEEB grounding system. In the video we mention the little tabs on the WEEB but didn't explain what they're for. When you slide the WEEB over the bolts, the tabs will eventually drop into the slots on the side or top of the rail, keeping them properly positioned. So here's the takeaway: the tabs on the WEEB always face the rail. This will be more obvious in Part 4.

I bought instruction from inplix and I built it very cheap.

Go to inplix page if you'd like to know how to build it. Great solutions for everyone I think

I made it myself thanks to INPLIX website

the over hang on those flashing will allow water or ice build up. Causing leaks in the future. Needs too be flushed with the comp shingle.

This is the worse setup. The solar industry need a new quick and simple procedure for the roof top installation. New procedure shouldn't use any brackets, no rails, no roof penetration. Here come the snap-in method. Average residential rooftop installation time should be under 4 hours.
