INFO: Juno is a NASA space probe orbiting the planet Jupiter after entering orbit on July 5, 2016, 03:53 UTC; the prelude to 20 months of scientific data collection to be followed by a planned deorbit. It was launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on August 5, 2011, as part of the New Frontiers program, and ranged into Jupiter's orbit on July 4, 2016. Juno's maneuver on July 4 has put it into a polar orbit to study Jupiter's composition, gravity field, magnetic field, and polar magnetosphere. Juno will also search for clues about how the planet formed, including whether it has a rocky core, the amount of water present within the deep atmosphere, mass distribution, and its deep winds, which can reach speeds of 618 kilometers per hour (384 mph). Juno is only the second spacecraft to orbit Jupiter and the first solar powered craft to do so, following behind the nuclear powered Galileo probe, which orbited from 1995 to 2003. Unlike all the earlier nuclear powered spacecraft to the outer planets,[6] the Juno spacecraft is powered only by solar arrays, commonly used by satellites orbiting Earth and working in the inner Solar System, whereas radioisotope thermoelectric generators are commonly used for missions to the outer Solar System and beyond. For Juno, however, three solar array wings, the largest ever deployed on a planetary probe, play an integral role in stabilizing the spacecraft as well as generating power. What me intriges is that the pictures are always blur. We have satelites orbitting the earth and hey van make a picture of a bottleneck lying on the ground. What I also do not understanding why we haven't a perfect map of the moon. Only blur pictures. Why do we not sent a satilite so that everybody can see the surface of the moon in real time and everybody can explore the moon in a high resolution? The map of the moon should be as perfect as the map of the earth by now. The only exlanation for these blur pictures for me is that there is another species who is already visiting us and that they have an agreement with NASA.

How long for the real pictures? My guess...??... 30 years from now?... then fuck investing in these missions if public can't see the results asap. I love space programs, but come on, let's see the f results.

No matter what the video that is posted, the comment thread turns to religion and politics. Not necessarily a bad thing until it degenerates into insults. And Felipe Silva may be interested to know that one day, all this type of research may be the reason humans survive. You never know, future generations might have to move to one of the moons of Jupiter.

I get sick and tired of hearing, "this will unlock the formation of our solar system and planet formation! If I was in charge of such a mission I would have the orbiter loaded for bear! Meaning, putting every detector know to man, instead of just the instruments that can measure or detect everything they expect to find! You want to prove we don't live in an electric universe, fine put instruments on the dang thing that could verify or confirm it! You want young people to step into science fields? Go and prove we had it wrong all along......then watch people flock to the possibilities that can come from starting over, rewrite the textbooks that show the data that doesn't agree with the outdated views, instead of the patchwork bs that only shows how creative people will get to save their 15 minutes of fame! Really does anybody believe anything NASA has to say about space anymore?

I am excited to see the pictures gathered by JUNO. however, we have to understand that they can only do so much at a time. it may take a while before they come up with these Vids+Pics but one thing's for sure...that will be amazing. Congratulations Team! I super love science. 😙

Jupiter exhibits all the characteristics of a sub-dwarf cool star. It's beyond me why sub dwarf stars found by the Keppler mission have the same emission profiles as our so called gas giants and they are called what they are but our giant planets are still designated as planets! The standard model gravity only paradigm has outlived it's usefulness,those of us that understand the role of electromagnetism and plasma dynamics are not at all uncomfortable with the idea that our solar system is a mish mash of celestial objects each with their own formational story over a very very long period of time.
